Patrick does the consultation, the design and every session himself, so the person you book is the person holding the needle. He came to SMP from a BA in Art, and he lost his own hair in his late twenties, so he has sat on both sides of the chair.

What happens
- 01The consultation. Free. What you are after, what will suit you, and your exact price. In studio, by phone or on video.
- 02The design. Patrick maps a hairline around your face and your age, and nothing starts until you are happy with it.
- 03Three sessions. Density built in layers, at least two weeks apart so the skin heals between each one. Often finished inside a month.
- 04The refinement. A fourth session is included, yours to use any time in the year after your first appointment.

What it costs on your own head, Patrick covers on the call.
That is the thing Patrick is most careful about. The shade is mixed to your skin tone and hair colour, at a density that suits your face, and he feathers the front rather than stopping at a hard line. No oversaturation, no barbershop edge up. The aim is that nobody notices it, they just think you have a clean, natural looking shaved head.
Typically around $2,500 all in for three sessions, with a $100 deposit to hold the first. Your exact number comes at the consultation, once Patrick has seen your head, and in-house payment plans are available.
Most clients put it at about a 2 out of 10, and no anaesthetic is used or needed. The pigment sits in the upper layers of the scalp, much shallower than a body tattoo.
Not with the right pigment at the right depth. Patrick uses 5PM Shadow, a carbon based ink made for scalps. Blue and green comes from the wrong ink in the wrong hands, which is why it pays to be fussy about who does it.
For the shaved look, yes, and shorter is actually better. Cut close, the pigment and your own stubble sit on the same plane and blend. If you are thinning rather than bald, density work is different: the pigment goes between the hair you still have and you keep wearing it at the length you like.
Three sessions, at least two weeks apart so your skin heals in between. If your diary and his line up you can be finished in about four weeks.
Years, and it softens gradually rather than disappearing. A fourth refinement session is included, free to use any time within a year of your first appointment.
